ClearCut is designed so that the image you edit does not need to leave your device.

Your images

Background removal runs in your browser. ClearCut does not upload, receive, or store the images you choose, the generated cutouts, or your manual refinements.

Model files and local storage

The ordinary ClearCut experience downloads open AI model files from the WithoutBG repository on Hugging Face and ONNX Runtime files from jsDelivr. A development build with the optional BEN2 evaluation explicitly enabled also downloads the revision-pinned 219 MB ONNX Community BEN2 conversion from Hugging Face. Your browser may cache these files to make later processing faster. ClearCut uses browser storage for model caching, editor preferences, and, if you activate Pro, licence access on that browser. It does not use local storage to impose image credits.

Site analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page usage and improve the product. We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal data.

Payments and Pro activation

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Its checkout collects the information needed to process your order under its own privacy terms. When you activate Pro, your licence key, checkout email, and a randomly generated browser identifier are sent through ClearCut to Lemon Squeezy's licence service. Your images are never included.

Contact

If you email us, we use the details you send to respond, provide support, and keep necessary transaction or support records. You may request deletion where we are not required to retain a record.
